If they swear by pomade that's fine, my cousin is dippin something serious and all he uses his sportin waves gold. We have the same texture too so imma post his pics one day. But swearing by texturizers are a different story...
"FOR BETTER CONNECTIONS BRUSH SLOWER WITH LESS PRESSURE"
Not me . The only thing I swear by is properly maintaining my shyt which means throwing a lil CC or pink lotion every now and then brush for at least 10 total minutes per day, thats what does the trick for me.

Most people that i know with waves swears by pomade. They always think that i'm lying when i say that i don't use it (they think i got a secret stash in my room. el oh el). When they saw my cc they started laughin cuz they said that's what theur moms use.
But if you think about it...the reason that the people that use pomade have "some waves" is because when they apply the pomade they have to brush it in for a lil while. And as ya know brushin gets you waves (it just takes them A LOT longer cuz they only do it for a few minutes...and the pomade is just increasing the visibility of the little waves that they do have)

LOL yeah but just last week I saw a guy with nice texture and I said to him what you put in your hair cause he was spinning he said he doesn't need to put anything in his hair for it to wave up like that he only uses pomade when he goes to a special event I was like your hair just waves up like that and all you use is water and durag. His hair was lookin dry but he was spinning and I just said try CC or pinklotion

I like apples but back on topic; some people are uneducated about waves. If it wasn't for pomade I wouldn't have waves at this point in time. Only using Carrot Crème or pink lotion or water requires too much work for some. I tried all those methods when I was younger when I had a lot of free time and only had school to worry about. Don’t get me wrong Carrot Crème, water or pink lotion yield great results; but it requires a lot of work to maintain your waves. By putting in the work to maintain = brushing time and the more brushing time = faster results. I found using pomade the correct way provides a laid back approach to getting waves which fits by current life style. By using the "right" amount of pomade greatly decreases the time needed to maintain your waves. Example in 2004 Christmas break, which was exactly 5 weeks long, I didn't brush longer than 20 seconds each day the whole time and of course I used a du-rag at night but my point is I didn’t lose a single wave. Carrot crème, water or pink lotion are the best methods for developing waves since they require you to continue brushing to maintain your waves and in the process of maintaining you improve. Furthermore pomade is best suited for maintaining and carrot crème, water or any lite hair product for that matter is best for developing waves. There are other advantages and disadvantages to each but there more of a personal thing.

NOT MANY PPL WILL ADMITT THEY DO OR HAVE USED A TEX-KIT.
My mother used to wash my hair about with it every once in a while when i was younger. But I used to use it in High school when i had a afro...It would keep my hair soft and it felt sooo good. Then when i first got on here and read about its negetive effects, i regretted the fact that i ever used it.
using texturizer at da end of da day is da easy way out. to me its ppl dat dont wanna put da time and effort to brush as much as is needed. plus, textured waves dont look as good anyways and waves dat r not textured r stronger.
