my hair is bleached blonde right now & I want to go back to brown. Before I toned it, it was yellow/light gold
I know you're supposed to dye it red before you add the brown to avoid green hair. But since my hair has gold/yellow tones in it, can I pick out a golden shade of brown without dyeing it red? I will strand test of course, but I want to know if that has a good chance of working before I spend the $4 (at sally's beauty)
How likely is it to turn out red (or green?) I like GOLD tones in brown hair, but not red. I know there's a fine line!
well I tested a neutral dark blonde that is close to my natural color & it pulls slightly warm, def not gold or red though. I think it will work just fine! I will probably get some roots a shade darker than that, but no biggie.
Now I just have to figure out how to foil in some blonde so I still have some highlights lol. that's gonna be tricky
Does anyone make a dark blonde gold based color that will turn gold over that??????

I cant name any specific blond colors. However,I have colored straight from blonde to brown without using red before, just using a golden brown and it turned out fine. Since your hair is goldish now you should be fine.
You really only need to worry about adding that red back in if the hair is very pale blonde with no gold tones (like the inside of a banana) It is those cases that could end up looking greenish.
