Hi,

I just cut my hair short after a lifetime of long hair.  Um.....LOVE IT!  Now, since it's short, I want to color it.  Never went with a permanent color before due to all the stress the chemicals put on my hair and how long it would take it to grow out a long length.  So...now that that isn't a problem, what should I use?  I'd just like to avoid the pitfalls of experimenting with various products that aren't any good or damage the hair in the process.  What brands are the best from personal experience?

Thanks so much,
Sarah

I'm hooked on goldwell colorance, which is a demi. You need to mix it yourself with the goldwell developer lotion (don't use a regular developer). The colors are gorgeous and it's sooo gentle on your hair. Lasts for 3 weeks or so, so you can experiment.

Here are the colors

That's my new favorite beauty store :)

I dont have a favorite. I think all at home colors have the potential for pitfalls when not used correctly or when trying to make a drastic color change.
As long as you stick within a few shades of your natural or current color you will be fine.
Doesnt mean you cant go drastic.Just be sure to check with the dye company's consultant first (they all have a 1 800 number on the box to talk to someone before doing it so you get the right result) Or ask for advice on this forum,as so many ladies here really know their stuff!Thumbs%20Up

What color were you going to try for?
