I wanna buy a hot roller set to use on my lf but I have no idea what to get. I have seen a velvet set and a regular plastic one. I am not sure what will be the best. Do you have any suggestions???

i think the caruso get's a lot of great reviews and its b/c of the steam but ionic's are great b/c there's a science to ionic's..

Ionic Hair System utilizes technologically advanced Natural Ion Complex to deliver natural negative ions to the hair. Natural negative ion energy is powerful enough to break water molecule clusters into micro-fine particles (atomization) and penetrate the hair shaft. That means moisture balance is restored and the hair cuticle is sealed.

ITA with SexiB. I've been using the Caruso on my natural hair for years before I ever learned about lf's and it's THE BEST on the market. My curls will hold all week long and if you coat the hair with a tiny amount of Jojoba oil before you set it you will have bouncy curls galore. You don't need the oil for the Hair Setter to work but for some reason it really traps the moisture into the hair shaft and your curls bounce like crazy when you walk or when you turn your head.

It shoots steam out of this small prong in the middle. Each roller is very light weight and has a hollow channel through the middle. You set the center of the roller on top of the prong where the steam is shooting out and it fills the roller with steam. After about 10 to 15 seconds you take the roller off and roll your hair. Leave the roller in your hair for about 2 to 10 minutes - depending on how much curl you want. The steam sets the curls firmly kinda like a wet set and leaves it shiny and soft.

the caruso get's the best reviews, but they are both based on the ionics science.. i was considering a bio ionics straightening system for my natural hair, it like the japanese thermal reconditioning perm that changes your complete structure of the hair strands/shaft.. but the others which are more popular work better like the yuko and a couple of others on white or japanese/asian hair.. bio ionices works better on black hair it locks in the moisture in your hair and i've been researching it for a couple of years waiting for it to be perfected for black hair.. its taken a while from it to get to america from japan, and then it finally reached larger cities.. it takes like 4 hours to do the perm b/c they like flat iron the chemicals in your hair like almost strand by strand and the temp of the flat iron has to be a certain degree of heat.. and its perfectly straighten for like 8 months, never a frizzer day, heat and humidity doesn't affect it, its like perfect hair period.. and its very expensive b/c of the time it takes to do one like 700 bucks, but its also extremely important to find a stylist that really, really knows what they're doing otherwise they can break your hair off at the root..now they have a couple of different options like the brazilian kertian and another one that might be better for black hair and they are very new and i'm still researching those as well.. you can't transition from AA perms, b/c they don't mix with a bio based perm, which is similar to like going from a jeri curl to relaxer your hair will break off b/c it doesn't mix.. that was my goal at the beginning of my hair growth journey and even tho i'm still on it, i'm kind of stuck on lf's..LOL but there are different hair products that use the ionic's science like heat roller's and blow dryers, and flat irons..
