DeadHowdy all!  I recently came into a situation where I can't afford my stylist anymore..  I can afford to have her do my highlights BUT not my base color..  SO, I am a big fan of goldwell color and my natural color is about a 7 (yep, dark).  I have very porus hair and it has been through alot!
My question is:  I bought goldwell 8NP-Light blonde/ pearl beige and want to lift the roots (new growth) to a light beigey blonde color.. I will have my stylist do the white highlights (i like my hair light).  I used the 20 volume topchic developer BUT it did not lift AT ALL!  Do I need something else to make it lift?  I want to lift it without damaging it too much.
Any and all advice is appreciated!!!
*Thanks!- Broke in TX

Hi,

The only thing that will lift your colour is bleach, as colour wont lift colour. If its your natural colour the 20 vol should have lifted the colour 1 shade lighter as thats the amount of lift you will get with 20 vol. 30 vol will give you up to 3 levels of lift, but is a little harsher on the hair. Why don't you get your stylist to add more hi lights and when you feel your getting too light just get her/him to add some low lights with either your natural base 7 or use the 8.

Karen.

Thanks Karen!  I was looking for a lighter base color more like a light brown... My hair is like a medium brown and very mousy color...  What do you think about adding the blonding cream to the color/developer?
