Like a lot of the people on here I have dark brown hair. I have a little caremal blonde highlighting at the moment and I LOVE it. I am too dark brown to go all over brown as I know the roots would show really bad. I really like the whole several toned blonde thing where you have some brown, dark blonde, light blonde all mixed in your hair. Is it possible to go pretty blonde just with highlights?

Lots of people seem to be doing just that. Talk to your stylist.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Sure you can. I've done it before both progressively by having highlights done each time I went in for a service, and by having almost all my hair foiled. I'll say that on the second way, I only went a couple shades different from my natural color because I didn't want that much contrast and I really liked it. When I did it progressively the first highlights I went a few shades lighter and then kept going to something lighter and lighter (eventually to a golden reddish blonde). Needless to say I had quite a few colors in my hair, but they all blended together nicely and the roots were never really a problem. But this was a pretty expensive way to go!!!

How blonde are you trying to get to from your brown color?

Hope that helps

I have dark brown hair and I'd like to do this sort of thing: (it's a britney spears picture but her hair is pretty!)

I'm thinking of doing that but the problem is that my base color at the mo is red (not nat. color)...
