Just found this board and am very impressed with all the information that is here. I just registered to be able to get involved as I am trying to grow out my own hair.

I'll start with a quick question: Should I be washing my hair everday, or give it a break every couple of days? I would like to do all I can to help it grow, I'm 41 and do color - roots only.

Generally, you should only wash your hair when it's dirty or oily, as shampoo is harsh. You should apply a conditioner each time you wash, and if you need more conditioning than that (which you may, as your hair is colored) work a few drops of jojoba in when it's feeling dry.


Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
