Hi Gollan,
My solutions: bandana, hat, braid, and tuck the braid into my shirt. As an alternative to the last item in the list, you might consider a "hair glove." I don't own one but I've heard about them.
I hope this helps.

Well, I think hats go well with long hair, since it´s already flat and I don´t need to worry about loosing volume!
As far as hairdos go, I´m sadly stuck with a braid inside the hat. Have to save the clever updos for less severe weather or evening when the sun is not so harsh (here in the land of the midnight sun).
Is there some kind of leave-in conditioner with UV-protection out there? Can anyone recommend a good one?
The more you complain, the longer God lets you live.
How do you protect your hair from the summer sun? I was looking at hats the other day but they just seem so wrong with long hair! Bandanas are waaaaaaaay to casual in most outings. I get tired of wearing a ponytail or bun all the time. I like having my hair dangling and flowing when I'm out but I do worry about frying my hair in the sun. What are your ideas for protecting your hair?
