I`m not sure I really like that short bob too much...and it might be more traumatic for you that you think. No matter how much you think you`re convinced you`ll love it, there`s always that little possibility that you`ll choke after a few days and go Oh my god, what have I done. I had my hair down to the middle of my back, straight, really pretty...and i got so bored with it. I really ran out of ideas. Sooo I chopped it...cute little bob up to my ears. It wasn`t bad at first, in fact it was much quicker, since I usually had to straighten my hair every day to get rid of frizz and random waviness. But then it started pissing me off little by little when I realized just how much more limited I had become: no ponytails, no buns, no braids, nothing. And I also started to miss the little things I had always loved before...all the natural highlights that used to stand out with the length, the way it swished when i walked, even the feeling of it falling across my skin. So I`m growing it out long again. It`s driving me nuts right now at the length it`s at, my shoulders. In between. I`m so close, but have so much more to go. I cut baby bangs in the meantime to keep myself entertained, and I really like them. I`m not sure I`ll cut it short again for a long time. I`m not saying you should wash the idea down the drain....just make sure you consider it carefully before doing anything. Or maybe even compensate by cutting your hair to a medium length before chopping it so short! Long hair takes so long to grow back. Be careful.....
I think that is a cute style, but up to shoulder length will be a big change for you. If your ready for that big of change then I agree with batman. Talk to your hairdresser when they are slow so they fully understand the style and length you want. I have a pic of a similar style that I will email to you.
I`ll admit it, I love short hairstyles on girls, and I`ve noticed that an oval face can be complemented really well by such a style.
But if you`re not sure, how about asking your hairdresser for advice? They`re usually far more capable at giving advice than members of this forum, as they have the advantage of seeing you in person, and being educated for the task.
Here`s a tip I read somewhere: go to a hairdresser on a time he/she isn`t very busy. If there aren`t any customers waiting in line while he/she cuts your hair, he/she will be far more likely to take his/her time and try to get the cut `perfect`

Hi everyone. I have got long, quite thick hair to about my waist. I am 15 and have always had my hair long, never much shorter than a couple of inches above my waist. I am really bored with it now and I want to have it cut. I'm not sure how, I was thinking about a shoulder length cut. What is everyones opinion on the top picture on this site www.relaxers.com/styles1.htm except to about shoulder length? Does anyone have any other pictures that they think would look good. My face is oval (I think). I would be grateful for any suggestions. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of myself. Thanx a lot. Emily
