I don`t think it would have to be buzzed in back. I just got mine cut and I really like it. I guess I would call mine below chin length but when it is dry it curls under just below my chin. The hair at my nape is probably about 2 inches. I have seen some bobs that kind of angle way up in back so I know what you mean but just tell your hairdresser that you don`t want that.
I think your hair would cover that, but you can tell by taking a measuring tape or a string and putting it from under your chin to the back of your neck to see how much chin length hair would cover. If it`s above your nape hairs, you`ll have to shave them...

I was thinking about getting a chin length bob, but then a question popped into my mind... with a chin length bob, would I need to get the nape shaved(buzzed) or would the length of my hair cover it?? I really want to know this before I make my descision, because I really don`t want my nape cut short and I don`t want to walk out of the salon upset because of it. Thanks in advance to anybody who can give me any answers!!
