Have you measured the growth of your hair? It probably grows about 1/2" per month. That's the growth rate of most people's hair. Some people's hair grows a bit faster or a bit slower. There's really nothing you can do to speed up your growth rate, unfortunately. There's no magic pill you can take. I know it can be frustrating, but, as long as you don't cut it off, it will get longer.
I had short hair all through high school. When I graduated, my hair was above shoulder-length. By the end of my second year of university, it was almost to my waist. I wasn't even thinking about growing my hair long. I was just really busy and too broke to get regular haircuts. Waiting for your hair to grow is like watching grass grow -- pretty tedious. Try to focus on other things, and it will grow -- that's what hair does.

Hi there. First of all, you shouldn't take any supplement without discussing it with your parents and your doctor first. There is also no need to take a biotin supplement. It's really easy to get enough biotin by eating healthy food. Here's some information I found about biotin:
"The Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine recommends that biotin should be consumed only from food sources to prevent intake of potentially toxic levels."
Nuts, liver, egg yolks, soybeans and fish are rich sources of biotin.
As for whether or not biotin actually makes your hair grow faster, there is wide disagreement on that subject. I have really long hair and it grows really fast. I don't take biotin; I just eat healthy food. (I love fish & peanut butter -- but not at the same time.) The best way to grow your hair long is to keep yourself healthy and take good care of your hair. Don't bleach it or dye it. Use conditioner. Don't brush it when it's wet -- just use a wide-tooth comb. Let it dry naturally as often as you can.
Good luck. With a little time and patience, I'm sure you and your sister will have the long hair you want before you know it.
