You could but funky colours in your hair, it is summertime now, so that kind of stuff is in.
Or but redlights, or low lights in your hair.
Colour the bottom dark and retouch up your roots with the blond. Cut the back short though so it will spike. Its fun, its cut, and you`ll be ready for summer!!!!

I can`t wait for my hair to grow long, I`m going to grow it at least a few inches past my shoulders. I agree short hair is boring you can`t do anything with it except spike it or dye it and dying works better on long hair anyway cause if your hair`s too short you`ll have to do your roots more often cause there`ll be as much brown/black as blonde or whatever.
This is my signature. It's not a very good signature, but it's a signature nonetheless.
Grow your hair out. I am growing mine out. It is about chin level, but I have always had it at least past my shoulders, I cut it in January, and it has grown two inches so far. But having long hair is fun because you have so many things you can do with it. Right now I hate my hair short, because I can`t braid it, or put it in a ponytail, a bun, or do anything cool with it. It is way worth it to have long hair :O) hope this helps.
