QuoteReplyTopic: Highlightz on an asian? Posted: July 09 2002 at 5:39am
hey, i`m an asian and i have brown highlights. i think i look better with highlights because i am so tanned. i`m from hawaii and i know tons of asian girls who have hightlights and they look great. i guess my advice to you is to keep the highlights somewhat close to your original hair color. real blond highlights look awful on black hair, you know. so i guess auburn wouldn`t be too weird. it depends on your skin tone too though. my skin is really dark because i`m tanned so i look too dark with my black hair a.k.a i look better with highlights. but asian girls who are fair look gorgeous with black hair w/o any highlights. this is all i can say.
Why do black and asian people imitate white peoples` racial features? Vanessa Williams looked like a good-looking black woman in 1992. More recently she did some hair and makeup things (if I saw well) to make her look more white, maybe even got light contact lenses. It does not display her to her advantage, I can tell you. (Ditto for whites who get `fros permed, though those rare white people who can grow an afro are really cool.)
Hey, I'm an asian wit black long hair, would it be alright to highlight hair hair like an auburn brown color? but not too much of a contrast to my natural color? I plan to foil highlight my hair, would tha be alright? And which dye products work best for you guys? Thx a lot 2 anyone who answers, l8z.
Hey grl I am asian too . I have thought bout dyin my hair like a redish tent but I love my natural back hair to but go for it !!!!!
I`ve never seen a blonde or blonde highlights Asian girl before, but I`d say it would look nice. I really like asian hair because it`s usually long and silky and black.
This is my signature. It's not a very good signature, but it's a signature nonetheless.
yeah, I agree on the post before me. Going for a whole head of blonde when you don`t have the natural colouring of pale or tanned skin can look REALLY weird. But I think asian people getting highlights can look really nice. A girl I know had them done, they were a really nice dark red and really suited her. Pick the right colour and go for it!
Hey, I have (or rather had) highlights in my hair and they came out pretty good. My hair`s grown since then and so now they`re really only on the bottom half of my hair. I`ve also seen a lot of kids in my school (Asian) have highlights in their hair that vary from brown to blonde to red. They all look fine. Just don`t overdue it and make your whole head that color...that just looks bad.

I`m Asian, though I don`t look Asian (dad is American). Lol.. My hair is dark dark brown and I want to dye it black but instead I got red highlights. I also got some of those fake hair clip things.. And one of them is black and a natural brown (the color of my hair..) If you got highlights, I dont think it`d look to bad but use foil. The caps come out so much worse...

hey- i`ve seen asian highlights that look awesome. i agree with the other repy- its all in the way its done. if you get them thin, and subtle, it`ll look cool. in my opinion, dark blue and maroonish-red lok the best (separately of course)

Hair: It can make you happy, it can make you sad, but mostly it just allows you to spend some quality time with your mirror. :-)
I`ve seen asians with highlights before, and if it`s done right, it can look really cool! I think they do that a lot overseas... BUT, i`ve never seen it in person!
