I have no hands-on experience with this, but my friends have gotten them done.
DISCLAIMER!! I can't guarantee my methods will work, but this is how I would *attempt* to do it.
A successful attempt may include other steps I may have missed, or some other modification. :

--Decide where you'll put a bun/ponytail/braided bun/braid, etc..
--Divide your hair into "stripes" running front to back, starting at the hairline and working back.
--Twist each "stripe" until you reach your bun point, clipping with a small claw when you get there.
--when you finish with all "stripes", anchor all your hair in the same place and finish off with a bun/ponytail, etc..
