Are there any other celebrities with their bangs cut the same way? You could try finding another celebrity sample with a similar cut; it doesn't necessarily have to be Ashlee Simpson. There aren't many pics of her out there, while people like Jen Aniston, Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst,... they have more galleries. Try finding a substitute.
and the next best thing you can do is find lots of chick friends who know about hair. Then you can sit down and describe your dream hairdo to them... They can also help you say the right words to your stylist.
