My hair also gets super tangly if I let it airdry loose. It's just plain unmanageable but if I let it dry in a bun or something it stays wet forever. i think I figured out what to do though. What I do is let it dry a bit when it's wet then put it in a high bun and sleep on it. That way it doesn't get to pouf. the next day I take it out of the bun so the hair inside of the bun can get a chance to dry. So I have it seperated in two sections. At night I put it up in the bun again. When I take it out in the morning I have nice beach waves, which I love. I get tons of compliments too.

Well.. you might want to try letting your hair "devolumize" for a day. It will help you get to know your hair better... That way you'll also know how to time your hair washes around special occasions. I always wash the day before anything important because I know the second day always looks best.
I've air dried only for the last 10-15 years. No blow-drying, er.... blow-frying. I wet bun for curls, but other than that, the poofiness is something I live with for a few hours. Sometimes I wash my hair in the evening, and let it de-volumize from then til bedtime. That way I wake up next morning with my "second-day-hair" (my second day is slick and smooth). How long does it take for your volume to die down Layla? (Layla, like the song : D Eric Clapton is so awesome)
I usually let my hair airdry and it's nice for awhile. But when it's completely dry it puffs out and can hardly fit in a ponytail. If I airdry it in a ponytail, bun, or braid it takes forever to dry. What should I do?
