Oooooooooh You should condition every time you wash!!! Conditioning will often help with flyaways as well. And since you're into swimming and sports, that puts more stress on your hair--the chlorine can damage fine hair. Instead of direct pool water exposure, use a leave-in conditioner or heavy oiling and add a swim cap before going in the pool.
Fine hair always needs extra gentle care, as opposed to to normal or coarse hair. "Messy" hair is often due to damage. I'd recommend sleeping on a satin pillowcase and doing deep conditioning treatments (for example do a heavy jojoba oiling 20 min. before each hairwash, and remember to include regular conditioner afterwards too)
Straightening irons damage ALL kinds of hair--especially fine hair--even if you're only straightening on special occasions. I wouldn't recommend using it at all.
hi just now, i use cheap asda (walmart in america i think) henna shampoo and conditioner - dont have much money! I wash my hair atleast twice a week and after swimmming/sports. I use straighteners occasionally, for special occasions, but not often. I let my hair dry naturally in the air. I just have a normal cotton pillowcase. hope this helps
You mentioned fine hair. Some finehairs don't fare well with typical plastic-coating conditioners, instead doing better with dimethicone-free stuff like Dove. I need more info.
What shampoo and conditioner do you use? What's your usual hair routine? Do you use any heat styling tools? Do you blow dry/fry? What kind of pillowcase do you sleep on?
I've got long, thin, brown hair, with a little wave in it. I like it like that - it looks very natural, but it always ends up looking messy. is there anything i can do to keep it looking nice and wavy without the flyaways? but I use serums and stuff, it makes my hair look really greasy and unclean, since my hair is so thin. anyone got any ideas? thanks
