Excluding the braiding varieties, the rest of my suggestions should take less than 5 minutes. But here's the case... since you ruled out the bun (said it didn't look attractive on you) and the ponytail (said it was "out"), there's not much "typical do" left that is quick and easily done without a mirror. But ... hair toys! Slides, hair safe barrettes. They're simple, classic, and quick. No hairdo is best at hiding frizz. I'd recommend finding a natural solution for your frizz--separate from your search for a school do.
Try new hair toys! Or new updos such as the Swirly Bun (Copyright (c) Leia), cinnamon buns, french twists, etc.. new braids: crown braids, other medieval braiding, pony shortening, slides, hair sticks(!!), hair safe barrettes, bandanas, headbands (speaking of which, the bra strap ones are in. Hairboutique has an article about them), claw clips, half updos.... woohoo! All instructions can be found almost anywhere on the net.
There's plenty you can do with long hair, Temerity!
In another discussion, I thought about perming, highlighting, doing SOMETHING with my hair. Well I think the general consensus is that I should just leave my hair exactly as is. So now I need to know: What hairstyles should I try?? My hair is layered so it scrunches into curls really easily if I gel it. The only problem is then all the flyaways. If I take a while I can straighten it and curl my ends giving me a kind of modern day farrah faucett (sp?) look. But thats about it. Ponytails are very out in the area that I live in. Most girls wear a completely slicked back cute-but-messy bun. I think that look is boring on me. Can anyone suggest anything? Pictures are always helpful :)
