I just had this style...No pics of it straight(to show the effect) though, sorry.. The bottom you don''t want to make black, maybe a dark brown...black is too severe. And you may want to do it in three colors instead of two, it would probably look better. These are things that I realized AFTER I did mine. Put a dark brown on the very bottom layer, then put a brown about 2 shades lighter in a middle layer...For the top, your going to want to go about 3+ shades lighter then the middle, for contrast, or else you wont be able to see what look you were trying to go for. You can add some highlights, too, to make it look sunkissed.
just to let you know, this style got old to me after a while, and since you can lighten up dark dye without bleaching it, I had to dye my whole head that dark dark color....which freaked me out..so eventually I had to rebleach my hair anyway(not to mention..I had to bleach the top layer and color over it with a caramel color in the beginning to get the ''blonde'' contrast color)...all the processing has really dryed it out..So you may want to think about if you get sick of it, how your gonna be able to go back to one color.
