I look at it this way if you say you may have to trim 3-4 inches off it then you're going to have to get it trimmed off at some point anyways... if you wait till it's all the way grown out you're still going to have to get the same amount of damage (and possibly more) trimmed off. But if you get it trimmed regularly your hair will be more manageable and tangle less.Anyways, a good long hair cutter will probably need to cut off less that 3-4 inches to get rid of your split ends. AND if you have severe damage at the ends of your hair it might start breaking off and not even grow to the length you want. AND you won't live with dull, ratty looking hair until it grows to the length you want so you can trim it. Get it trimmed... your hair will thank you.-jennifer

My Hair is about 25 inches long (and curly) and I haven't trimmed it in over a year, and I only want to start trimming it when it reaches my waist. Then I'll maintain it at that length. But I'm concerned if I don't trim it,my hair will split too far up and I will have too many broken hairs, i.e. my hair will be "V shaped", or is that a myth.If you want long heathy hair, but you are growing it longer at the moment, should you still go in for trims, or let it grow to the length you want it, then go in for trims?(Don't really want to trim my hair if I don't have to, since I may have to trim 3 to 4 inches off, and it will take me longer to get longer hair.)Kirk
