Hi,I saw this topic and remembered a recipe I saw from Ouidad in the June 17 magazine. She recommends that you mix half an avocado with 2 ounces of plain yogurt and slather it on your hair. She recommends that you leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it out. I tried it and it works. Must be the avocado thing.Liz> Hi,> I have really been enjoying the talk started> by Jen's home formula which I intend to try soon.>> I found another interesting Summer Hair Masque> in the April 1998 Self Magazine under Beauty.> John Masters of the New York hair salon by the> same name gave Self mag his own personal parched> hair home treatment. Hi,I have really been enjoying the talk started by Jen's home formula which I intend to try soon.I found another interesting Summer Hair Masque in the April 1998 Self Magazine under Beauty. John Masters of the New York hair salon by the same name gave Self mag his own personal parched hair home treatment. I tried this recipe the day after I bought the Self Magazine. It was very messy but it works great. Here is the recipe that John gaveWhip 1 raw egg in a blender Add a peeled and pitted whole avocado Add 5 to 20 drops of pure essential oil (either primrose or rosemary oil is best).Mix everything well.Apply to your hair concentrating on the driest parts. Cover with a plastic cap and leave on for a minimum of 30 minutes.Shampoo with cool to tepid water.Warning: Don't apply head or you have a cooked dish on your head. :-OProceed at your own risk. John Masters told Self that this mask is so great because it combines proteins and fatty acids which helps to restore a healthy sheed to moisture deprived hair. The ingredients are easy to find and you can just whip them up in your blender and apply.I definitely noticed a difference and was not surprised because I have actually used avocado and olive oil before. That works well too. I think the rosemary gives the mask a special kick although primrose is great too.Karen
