ANd thanks!Ok, I'll give it a try, but I think you'd have better luck using directions that have pictures included. For those, if you're in the US, you might try looking on the back of a package of French twist combs. They can usually be found in any drugstore or supermarket, or an accessory store. But I'll try to describe it.Start by making a ponytail at your neck, but don't put an elastic on it - just hold it. Begin twisting it. Once you've twisted a few times, slowly bring it up so that it lies along the back of your head, twisting as you do it. The hair against your scalp will sort of roll over it as you keep twisting, making a sort of seam up the back of your head. Once it's twisted all the way up, you can leave the ends out and curl them, if they're short enough, or you can make a bun at the top of the seam, or you can tuck the ends under the roll for a traditional French twist. Pin along the seam with lots of bobby pins, or use a French twist comb.French twist combs are much easier and probably more secure for most types of hair. They're sort of like the regular combs that people like me use to hold back growing-out bangs, but larger, and curved to lie right against the back of your head. Push it in to catch some of the rolled hair, and then just keep sliding it in until it is completely inserted. You can add flowers or a small decorative clip to this style fairly easily, if you want to dress it up, or leave it plain. I would suggest practicing a few times, but it really is fairly easy. One note - if your hair is very long or exceptionally thick, it may not work well. I have too much hair to do a French twist anymore, although I used to be able to wear one with no trouble at all.Good luck!Laura Janelswanson@sunflower.bio.indiana.edu
