> Do you have any tips on how to frenchbraid one's own> hair? I have tried and tried and can't seem to get it.I used to get my sister in law to frenchbraid my hair everytime I saw her.. believe me she got sick of having to braid all my hair at that time. I tried and tried for years to learn to do my own but all I could do was the regular braid and I could do that behind my head with no problem. One night I was sitting on the couch and I attempted again and it clicked. I actually figured it out. But it was a reversed frenchbraid where the bulk is on the outside...but that didn't matter to me. I had finally learned the trick. All I can say is to practice on someone elses head then mentally try to figure it out as you play with your own. I find I do better when I do not look in a mirror. The first time I got it frenchbraided, I ran to a mirror and when I saw I had actually done it, I let out a hoop and holler!! I was so proud. Guess it was something that had me beaten for so long and I won out. Good luck ..maybe get a book on frenchbraiding your own hair. I saw some at our library one day.. you may find some at yours.. Cher~

To get nice waves try washing your hair at night, comb it out, then (while its still damp but not dripping wet) tightly french braid it and don't take it out till the next morning. You might want to put a foam curler in the very end after you braid it. It works beautifully on my long hair!Good luck!

I posted a message a while ago about my fine thin ioly hair and got great tips. My hair is looking MUCH better! Thanks! Now I need someone to tell me how to put just a touch of curl in it. I have some of those steam rollers that used to work when my hair was shorter, but now they don't do anything. I don't want to hurt my hair. What do I do? Just some nice waves would be nice.
