QuoteReplyTopic: How do I use Hair Chopsticks?? Posted: January 12 2000 at 2:43am
I grab my hair like I'm going to make a ponytail but instead I start at the base of the neck and start to twist. I twist towards the front and then grab halfway down and twist the loop towards the back, then keep twisting till I have a tight loop then stick the sticks through the loop and down through the twisted bun and out the bottom being sure to include some hair deep in next to the head when I slip the sticks in. Chris, you could just start to twist towards the back and when you've reached the end of your ponytail pull it up towards the top of your head and keep twisting till it makes a nice roll under so you have a lovely French twist and slip the sticks down through the top and out the bottom. The trick is to play with it until you have the twisting part down right so that you use the sticks to hold the twist tight. Same for a bun, I find it works best if you twist it up good before you wind it around, then criss cross the sticks so they hold nice and tight. Just don't go too tight! With a little practice you can figure out what works for you. I used to have trouble with the end of my braid getting all tangled when I was swimming and this summer I finally figured out how to do a teak hairstick in this twisted roll that even stays when I'm diving and playing with the kids in the water. Just fool around with it till it feels right for you.Good luck! Done right, hair sticks work really well and are very hair friendly.Best wishes!Dawn
Cher's right, its pretty simple. It is kind of hard to explain though. Make a bun and hold it with your left hand. Take the stick in your right hand and insert it into the edge of the bun at about 1 o'clock with the tip pointing towards the top of your head. Then lift your hand up, reversing the direction of the stick, as you begin to point the stick down, grab a bit of hair from your head, then put the stick back through the bun. This is the key to getting it to stay. One motion: Put it through the edge going up then reverse directions, catch more hair and stick it back down through towards the 7 o'clock position. Do the same thing with the other side. Insert the stick through the edge of the bun pointing up, grab some hair on your head then reverse the stick, point it down toward 5 o'clock and stick it back through the bun and out the other side. The thing that determines how tight the bun stays attached is how much hair on your head that you grab with the sticks before you reverse directions. I know this sounds very complicated but its really not. Maybe someone else could explain it better! : )

(All one length)> Can someone explain the secret to me??> Thanks!Just wrap your hair into a bun and insert the sticks on each side with digging down to grab underneath the bun hair. Then come back out through the side of the bun. With your length hair you should have good success with the sticks.. Cher
