It does define curls and definately beats frizz but I'd suggest an additional product for thick hair. I personally use a good leave-in conditioner (Aveda Elixir, Kiehls, Sebastian Potion #9) or a styling creme (bumble&bumble's, ARTec, Aveda PureFume Brilliant) first in my damp hair and then when it's nearly dry just a little Texture Shine cuts down any frizz, defines and shapes the curls, and holds well with no greasy feel.. just soft hair!I hope I helped!ThanksKeth'ryn

Hey folks...I just wanted to tell y'all how I've flipped over ARTec's TextureShine! I started using this stuff last month for my guy clients. Soon I was using it with the women too. It's fantastic. Kind of a pomade/gel/creme/shiner/ all in one. The best part though is that it's really light and not at all greasy. It leaves the hair soft and shiny with great control. The versatility of this product rocks! I'm hooked.ThanksKeth'ryn
