Hi everyone,Hair texturizing is a chemical process used on excessively curly/kinky hair. The process is designed to pull or stretch some of the curliness to soften hair without straightening it. It is a delicate process, like all processes that require chemicals, and will probably require additional conditioning and hair treatments once you have the process done.I have worn texturized hair for about 3 years now. As an african-american, my hair was excessively curly and I wanted to wear it naturally curly without having an afro. When I wear it down, the style is very similar to that of Janet Jackson wears on her latest album, sans the red color. I would like to try a brown dye but I know it will make my hair even drier. For someone with naturally looser curls, I have heard of similar processes that help to achieve a softer or even looser curl. As mentioned before, when any chemical processes are done, they will require extra upkeep so get the info on them before you jump into the boat.Oh, I think Ouidad offers a service to soften curls which is similar to "texturizing". Hope my little info has been helpful.Good luck and please let me know what you find.Leilani
