Kathryn,I have found ARTec at my local beauty parlor (a chain store) and at Regis Hairstylists and JC Penney Stylists. However, my personal salon does not sell it and the locals prices are to high-- so, I buy my ARTec from the World Wide Beauty Store on the Net. The prices are right and the S&H is quite low. Also, on my first shipment, I ordered the small size of conditioner, but the bottle that came in gave me 100% more FREE! You can't beat that deal! Good Luck! I hope you love it as much as I do!Sherry

Hi there!First off, I am not a hairdresser, but have tons of experience using select products (I have a product graveyard) Anyway, about Pantene, the "old" Pantene was LOADED with silicones that can weigh your hair down and make it brittle and "plasticy" feeling. It also contained a chemical called Ammonium Xylenosulfate, a nail polish solvent, that can strip your hair (especially if you color). I recently tried the "new" Pantene over my mothers house, and although there are less silicones, it still leaves my hair frizzy and icky feeling AND they did not get rid of the nail polish solvent, they just moved it down the inred. list. Plus, the only thing that was good about the original Pantene was the smell and even that has changed (Glade makes a Cat Box deoderizer that smells just likePantene'd new scent.) Anyway, my advice to you when you are out there shopping is to look for silicone free formulas that are rich in natural oils and botanicals like jojoba, chamomile, kiwi, yanglang, etc... Also, do NOT purchase ANY shampoo with the ingredient Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or TEA Lauryl Sulfate-- these detergents are strippers and are too harsh for hair. Stick with gentle cleansers like Ammonium Lauryl or Laureth Sulafte or Sodiem Laureth Sulfate. And finally avoid shampoos and conditioners that conatin fixatives such as guar or acrylates, coploymers, etc..I really hope this helps! PS-- I use ARTec and I love it!Sherry> I just recently started posting on this site.> Apparently there is alot I don't know about hair and> hair care products.> I have been getting the sense that Pantene is not so> great for your hair.
