Ally, I've searched the archives and still can't find any reference to a message that may have been "offensive," so I guess I'm out on the loop. However, I did find a message from a "J" questioning overenthusiasm for Viviscal, which I simply do not understand. Good grief, I'm as thrilled over Aussie Mega Shampoo BECAUSE IT WORKS! :)If you'll remember, I used to have my signature as TAYLOR but another Taylor signed on, and to avoid confusion I put the H. in front of my name. Furthermore, I never provide my e-mail address on boards because of an unfortunate stalking incident that occurred a few years back in person. Enough said on that one. However, I did send my e-mail address to you in person for the Viviscal survey and never heard back -- I hope you received it.Hope this clears up any confusion. I'm sorry about the "troll" postings, and I can see where it would cause you to be cautious. I've noticed that there have been some malicious postings on the Politics board from people who appear once and never write again, and that also made me suspicious, so I can understand where you're coming from. So don't worry about it!
Ally, I must have completely missed something because I can check the board only sporadically. Why do you or anyone owe me an apology? I'm going to run through the messages and see if I can find what's going on!
Ally,I appreciate the apologies and I wasn't here when the "troll" was posting menacing messages. Every experience I've had with message boards has been pleasant thus far. I just sent in the responses to the questions for you and I wish you luck on the Viviscal survey. The results shjould be interesting. Thanks againRegina
Regina--You're right. I should have e-mailed the Webmasters separately. I thought only to have the issue cleared up once and for all.I noticed this subject had been raised previously (and politely), and H. Taylor never responded. That made me especially aggressive.Regina, in my defense: I don't remember if you were here then, but a few months ago this board had problems with a troll posting under various pseudonyms. This person caused a lot of uproar and--after being called onto the carpet by several members--flame wars. Because people took him seriously. Even though Hair Talk has a "freedom of expression" policy, he was barred from the forum. With good reason.I thought I saw a lot of the same signs here: No contact address, a very driven "agenda," extreme enthusiasm, jumping in at any opportunity to plug his agenda, anonymous "defenders" who showed up suddenly when people questioned his validity, failure to respond when confronted....But I must assume that I was wrong. I have apologized to H. Taylor and do so again here. I apologize to those of you who were "deeply offended" on her behalf. I handled this one poorly.Ally
I just wanted to remind everyone that the Hair Talk message board is a vessel for relaying information and experiences regarding hair. I am deeply offended at the suspicious remarks made about one of the hair talk contributors. This is a community where everyone should be able to include their opinions and experiences without being blasted by other members. It is up to the webmasters to scrutinize the messages posted and the postees themselves.I suggest that any other inquiries made about hair talk contributors be made private and emailed only to Karen and Jeff. It is extremely tasteless to bring such a matter up in a public forum. Everyone here has the right to pick and choose which messages they read and do not read. If you distrust someone's information then don't read their posts!Sincerely,ReginaPS.
