A lot of products on the market contain silicones and fixatives which can build up on the hair and make it more dry over time (silicone is used as a moisturizer)so be sure to use a clarifying shampoo occasionally. look for a shampoo with a mild detergent like Sodium laureth sulfate. If your hair is shoulder length or longer try shampooing just the scalp and just rinse the suds through the ends. Brushing is also very important but needs to be done gently with a boar bristle brush. Get "Don't go Shopping for Hair Care products Without Me" by Paula Begoun It explains how products work and warns of harmful ingredients, Karen reviewed it in the book section of this site. also check the links page on this site especially the Long hair sites. In particular TLHS and Brent Jones have very good hair care sections.Hope this helps,Shannon G.> Please help!!! Goldwell's Kerasilk is wonderful and can stand the test of time. I aslo just discovered ArTec's line with the smoothing combo, and the texture cream seems very moisturizing and protecting. Good Luck on your search!!P.S. Kerasilk is a much heavier product than ArTec.

My hairstylist told me to never wash your hair everyday. Instead-on the days you don't wash, just use a conditioner. This has helped me a bit, as for the products--I'm still looking to!Good Luck,Shannon

> Have you tried Redkens All Soft Masque? I have long, thick, coarse, curly hair, and I love it. It may be to thick and heavy for a lot of people, though. Artecs Moisture Pak is lighter, and their Smoothing Shampoo smells wonderful. Please help!!! I am looking for hair products that> won't dry my hair. > Try using something with a moisterizer in it. If that> doesnt work try talking to a professional.Try Infusium 23 moisturising products. They work wonderfully on dry hair. Definitely use the leave-in treatment after shampooing. Don't blow-dry either that adds damage. After you shampoo and condition rinse off your hair in cold water. Hot water opens the hair cuticle and cold water closes the cuticle, sealing in moisture. Hope that this helps.
