Hi Elisabella,I have tried the Nature's Gate shampoo and conditioner called 'Protein Enriched with Keratin' or something like that (Ithink it's the one you mentioned). It didn't condition at all, but it was really thick. I use it under my swim cap. I just think that my hair is a bit too damaged for it. Oh, Roberta I feel so bad. I wish that I had posted my rpoblem with Biolage sooner. However, I am going to write up a review on itfor Karen so everyone can become aware. What happened to you is exactly what happened to me-- it just took a couple of days :( There must be a ton of fixatives hiding in there and that is what is causing the build-up. I have since gine back to ARTec (as you know, my old stand-by). ARTEc works very well for me, as long as I use the Volume shampoo in place of the Smoothing Shampoo (I use volume about 4-5 days a week and Smoothing on the other days,-- I ALWAYS use the smoothinng conditioner). By using the Volume shampoo every other day or so, it takes away any build-up that the conditioner may cause and this has ALWAYS worked for me (I just get frustrated becasue I hate having two bottles of shampoo in the shower-- the closet is a different thing). Another favorite of mine is Potion 5 shampoo (I also used to LOVE Potion 9, until I found out that it was aiding in the crunch factor, but I still keep it around). I will use Potion 5 and follow it with the smoothing conditioner (although you almost don't need a conditioner-- have you tried Potion 5?)--Rusk Smoother and Calm also have their strong points, although my hair is not quite as soft as with some of the others. Another GREAT line is the Paul Brown Hawaii line of products (I just submitted a review for Karen on this line, and it should be up soon). Anyway, they are the only lines that I will hold on to, the others thatI have tried I am trying to swap or sell. Ones I didn't like: Nexxus Therrape (Ugh, the Biolage syndrome repeated), Paul Mitchel Awapuhi and the Conditioner, Pantene anything, Frizz-Ease, Phytologie (the Phytomousse S88 and the Phytobaume-- the Jojoba ...is quite nice and so it the Phytosesame), Redken All Soft (gave it to my mom), Potion 7. Whew! I know that I must have missed a line somewhere in there. Oh, yeah-- Rusk Wired-- hated it:(Roberta, I sure hope that you can at least find something to always fall back on (like I have with ARTec).
