I would like some ideas about WHAT I could do with my hair.I was in my teens when I left the natural state of my hair and opted for straightning.{Is straightning the same as relaxing? I hear both terms some interchangeably.}Then, a few years later I changed to wave nouveau. I had to cut all my then past shoulder length off to make this change. I made the change because I was tired of the curlers and the endless hours spent drying my hair. With the wave I could just wash my hair and air dry.I have had the wave for almost five years now. I am not totally disappointed with it, but I have heard that this constant double processing, the straightning and then curling, is damaging to my hair. I would return to the straightning if it wasn't for all the blowdrying required and the curlers.I am thinking of getting my hair braided in the meantime, {that is while I decide if even after my objections, to switch back to straightning}. How long should braids be kept in? Does my hair remain relatively healthy and grow while in braids? What are the pros and cons of all three styles- straightning, wave nouveau, braiding? Which do you prefer, or think best, and why? I have other questions, but later.
