Hi, Melanie!I am so glad you made this suggestion. I am also glad that you tried the Ultra Swim Shampoo and Conditioner. I am going to get some of this stuff before next weekend at the beach. It's great that people here like you are using the Aubrey products because we are all getting a ton of feedback:)On a personal note, how have you been? Drop me a note when you get a minute:) You are a lovely person! I meant to tell you that I loved your post about the Assure relaxer. It was very interesting and you've got a piece of history, too:)I don't know what Aubrey Organics is doing with the J.A.Y. formula. I need to drop them a note again. I see that you note it got rid of the flakes. It does that for sure, but my own reliance on the product has definitely waned. I've been using it sparingly and as I said on the scalp mainly.I'm happy to know that something in the Aubrey Organics line has proved positive for you.Bye for now,Jade21> I have read your posts and been quite entertained. Jade and Sug,I have read your posts and been quite entertained. I have a suggestion that might help a bit. I use Ultra Swim Shampoo and Conditioner when I have had it with my hair. It softens it and claims to get rid of the hard water and other deposits on your hair. I even have used it to stretch the time between touch ups (when I was relaxing my hair). Mind you, I just stopped relaxing it about 7 weeks ago.I've tried the JAY and the Blue Camomile Shampoos in the Aubrey line as well as the BGA hair mask and the GPB. That GPB is some powerful stuff. I love it. I ran out of the Ultra Swim Conditioner and used the GPB in it's place and absolutely loved it! I wasn't thrilled with the JAY. It was fine, but, I just didn't notice a big difference. However, my scalp is no longer flaking. So, maybe that was my benefit. With the Blue Camomile and the BGA, my hair held a curl for two days! That's a lifetime record for me. It's just that the Ultra Swim is a miracle in a bottle. When my hair is hard to manage and extremely poufy, I reach for that. One shampoo transforms my hair into something recognizable. For me, the CON seems to detract from the conditioning process. I usually condition before using it. My hair feels even softer and still manageable.Sug, perhaps the BGA or GPB before CON would help.I wish I could offer more suggestions.Melanie

I would liken it to the natural/organic alternative to Creme of Nature. Didn't I tell you about it along with the conditioner--ultra-rich?Anyway, he also uses the Infusium 23 Leave-In Conditioner, Extra Moisturizing Formula. He gave up the Ginkgo and Ginseng Moisturizing Jelly because he couldn't find the proper mix, even when using the Infusium. Normally, I use the Infusium Original Formula right after conditioning and before the Ginkgo moisturizing jelly. I have tried the Extra Moisturizing formula, but felt it was a bit heavy on a weekly basis. The Infusium might help. I have not had a problem with the product "turning on me." I've used it continuously for years now.For conditioning, he has been alternating between the GPB and the Jojoba and Aloe. Sug', his hair was severely damaged. He had been using texturizers because he was having such a horrible time with managing his hair. Mr. Steel Wool had some ROUGH hair.Hope this helps....Jade21

Hi, Sug'!You definitely read my mind today.I would describe it this way. Moisture is a component of conditioned hair. Your hair can be conditioned, but not moist. I think the difference you feel with the Creme of Nature is that that product really weighs your hair down. When I think of conditioned hair, absent moisture, I think of hair that is manageable, free of tangles, not breaking. If it is breaking, but manageable, moisture may be the problem. The problem you pose is just what I found when Aubrey Organics altered the J.A.Y. shampoo formula a while back. I used the same products, but what I noticed was that my hair seemed a little dry. Consequently, I had to put a little oil all over my hair the day after I shampooed. Now, when I use the J.A.Y. shampoo, I concentrate on my scalp only. My hair must have been in the minority of users because the formula was actually altered to make it more moisturizing. Apparently, some customers had called them because they noticed their hair was drier. Mmmm....How does moisturized hair feel? It feels very soft and your hair should have some real shine. That's how my straight with a visible wave feels:) Miss "Kinky/Coily" to give you an idea of what your hair would feel like, let's hear from Mr. Steel Wool:) I mentioned a friend a while back whose hair had gotten so long he was using braids so he did not have to cut it. He uses Aubrey and he readily likens his hair to steel wool. His hair is coarse--you can see every strand-but soft as butter, shiny and he can run his hands through his hair without breakage or what he calls "those little snarls."I hope that others will respond to this question. It seems to be one which I have encounterd so much recently. All the Best,Jade21I love my AO shampoo and conditioners. The give me> great moisture. I love my AO shampoo and conditioners. The give me great moisture. But when my hair dries, the moisture some how disappears. My hair is relatively soft. Relatively, because it kinky/coily and probably will not be soft as straight hair. When I use a shampoo/conditioner like Creme of Nature, it feels different. Well conditioned but not really moist.Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I just strange?I guess my question is, how do I keep my hair moist after the water evaporates? How does moist hair feel? And How is moisturizing different from conditioning?
