I ahve done highlighting on my wife's hair with great results. I used the cap type which only allows a small strand to be pulled through and protects the rest of the hair from spills or inadvertant lightening. Also I read a long time ago to use a light susting of cornstarch sprinkled in the cap to assist in applying it on your head and help the hair strands slide out.HHGRelated Link:The Traditional Hairdressing Page

I have done it successfully, but caution you to please do a test strand...The best results IMHO on at-home highlighting are received when using TINY strands...not large strands or chunks. Those definitely call for a salon visit. My best highlights were small strands of just a few hairs, all over my head. It was very natural looking. HTH

I have been thinking about highlighting my hair at home with one of clariols highlighting kits. I have med. brown hair and would like to add a few highlights during summer time. Has anyone ever tried these products? I colored my hair about 3 or 4 weeks ago with Castings, but my gray is already showing so I guess it has run it's course. I'm always scared to try something before finding out someone elses opinion. THANKS!!!!!
