I take prenatal vitamins, along with B Complex, E, and others for hair, skin, and nails. I have been very happy with the results, but Jade is right; some may not find it a good idea to use the prenatals so seek out advice like you are doing now. As to your original question about prenatals, yes it helps greatly in hair growth.

Hi!Thank you for your answers! It was really kind of you!Well, I have found Twinlabs Hair Factors at vitaminshoppe but I dont know if it contains the sulfur aminos, I-methoine and I-cysteine which you mentioned. I also thinking about try some aminoacids. I can mention that I have been eating Viviscal for 5 months(!)and havent noticed any reults at all, the condition of my hair is not even better...I really want my hair to be in great conditon so I also consider to start with Aubrey, thinking about Honeysuckle Rose shampoo&condition, Jojoba &Aloe conditioner (and mix it with the HoneysuckleRose conditioner, you said it was great), Blue Green Alg mask and GPB.I now using Charles Worthington products but they really dry out my hair!!(the first day its shiny but the next day its really dry)I have also tried Redken buy they are so expensive and the results are only "ok" so I dont think its worth it.Well, I hope the Aubrey helps my hair ( I have thick, dry mediumlong hair, I have already trimmed about 3 inches of damaged hair but the hair still break of!), I also do weekly hotoiltreatments with oliveoil but I havent noticed any softness at all. I eat a balanced diet and dont overbrush my hair I also use jojobaoil when I am out in the sun. I dont know what I`m doing wrong, its sounds crazy but I think the problems started when I started to take care of my hair(!!)Ok, take care!

Hi!I have neither been pregnant, nor have I taken pre-natal vitamins for any purpose, including hair growth. However, many women do. Most of the formulas are, of course, directed at pregnant women, with a focus on a higher level of iron and folic acid. In addition, the level of Vitamin A(I mean palimate or another form, not Pro-Vitamin A or beta carotene)is lower than in the average multivitamin.I would suggest that you read about some of the experiences of the ladies at www.naturallycurly.com who have either taken them personally or have opinions. A question was posted earlier this week.Personally, unless you are anemic or borderline because maybe your periods are heavy, I think there are better avenues to hair growth and condition. If you no longer menstruate, you definitely don't want to be taking a pre-natal vitamin. Vitamin A, and especially beta carotene, which is referred to as pro-vitamin A because your body turns into Vitamin A as needed, assuming no malfunction because of a disease like an overactive thyroid, are important for hair growth and condition, among other things. As I mentioned, you won't get this with a pre-natal vitamin. You might take a multivitamin more suited to your lifestyle and individual needs coupled with a B-Complex vitamin and maybe even a commercial hair formula like Nature's Plus's Ultra Hair, Source Naturals' Lustre Hair, Skin and Nails, Twinlab's Hair Factors, Solgar's Sulphur Antioxidant Complex, etc. These hair formulas contain essential vitamins for hair growth and some even contain the sulfur-containing aminos like l-methionine and l-cysteine which encourage hair growth and superior hair condition. Some people, like those taking Hair Formula 37, take free-form aminos. I don't take them, so I can't help you here:)If I have been unclear, please drop me an e-mail or a post here.Have a lovely weekend!Bye for now,Jade21> Hi!
