Be careful if you have blonde hair: I have found olive oil gives it a green tinge!

Yes, olive oil is great! I agree with everything Jen said on that regard. Olive oil is great for dry hair! It has done a lot for my hair. Be generous with the olive oil, but don't put so much on that it all drips out. Wash with a very mild/gentle shampoo (I usually use Nature's Gate), and you'll probably have to lather twice (then condition as usual). If you warm the oil before putting it on dry hair, it'll be the most effective. DiegoI haven't heard anything about olive oil but I have heard that safflower oil is suppose to be excellent for dry ends. I was told that it is the same oil that is in your scalp. And to do it when your hair is dry and only a few drops. It is suppose to restore the moisture into the hair that doesn't touch the scalp.> Jodi
