Hi Maria,I think it's a good idea, but I'm not sure if you will see too big a change. But at least it gives you the chance to do some night treatments :)It sounds from everything you say that oil is in fact the cause of your breakouts. I'm just curious as to why your body is producing so much oil. You mentioned having allergies. I know that some people get rashes on their skin because of allergies. This proves that skin does react to allergies. But I have not heard of skin producing extra oil as a result of allergies, although it sounds very probable. Or maybe your body is cleansing itself of toxins and other stuf, and when it comes to the surface of your skin, it irritates it. (Notice that I have no clue what I'm talking about: I'm just brainstorming on different things you can consider!). Ask your doctor about it. Another option is to go to an herbalist/nutritionist (chinese or otherwise). They always seem to have solutions for these types of problems (raspberry tea and red clover tea help cleanse the body- just a little side note:)). As for cola, if it can disolve a penny, imagine what it does to your intestines! I would avoid drinking it even if you didn't have any problems.I forgot to tell you of another product I tried. The Blue Green Algae Hair Mask. It works very nice and I didn't have any problems with it. I like the way it feels on the scalp. The smell needs a little of getting used to, but I don't mind it. I found that it was very soothing to my scalp, it is full of protein, and it leaves the hair very shiny. Try it- I think you'll like it. BTW, how is the Rosemary Sage Hair Rinse working for you? I haven't tried it. Is it watery? How does it leave the hair? The best of luck to you,PD> Hi :)> I just had an idea. Hi :)I just had an idea. Maybe, since my scalp is oily it would be more helpful for me to wash my hair in the morning as opposed to night. Might help my scalp stay cleaner longer. Just a thought.MariaRelated Link:Maria In Mass

Yeah, that makes two of us wishing this didn't happen LOL! But like I told you in my last post, I refuse to give up. The only things I've been using in the shower are the JAY shampoo, Dove Body wash for sensitive skin, and for the last couple of days the Herbal & Natural Skin Cleanser by AO for Normal to Oily skin (This stuff really cleans my skin well and it still feels clean the next morning after using it! WOW!). Tonight I switched to Dr. Bronner's Castile Oil Soap, used the Caguala Fern Shampoo (I love the scent and it felt really good on my scalp!), and Rosemary & Sage Rinse (This rinse felt so good on my scalp!).As I've mentioned, I've been having this silly breakouts happen for years and it always happens after using something with a sensitive ingrediant OR if something is too moisturizing for my skin/scalp. For instance, years ago when I used conditioner this happened but it has happened with certain shampoos as well. It also has happened after using honey with olive oil and egg as a special treatment. It's also happened a lot in the summer time when skin/scalp can become oiler due to the warm weather and also when I've skipped a day from shampooing. This is why I think with the JAY it happened not because of the ingrediants BUT because maybe it was a little too moisturizing for my scalp.Another thing. Maybe it's partly allergy related. I'm not talking about just certain ingrediants in hair products, but things like tobacco smoke, dust, and pollen too. I don't think I shared this with you yet, but I had undiagnosed mild allergies as a child (Back then I thought it was always a cold though and used to think I just had a sensitive nose LOL). Then two years ago, my doctor told me I had mild asthma (Nobody in my family except a second cousin has this. I am almost certain second hand smoking had something to do with my developing asthma. My father is a heavy smoker and smokes in the house.). Also, since August and even more so in September, my nose is always running. Even worse, whenever I go outside to mow our lawn and then return to the house I start wheezing a little. I asked my doctor about this and she told me it means I'm allergic to pollen. She told me I might have to go for allergy testing eventually. Do you think that things like pollen, dust, ect. can have an effect on your skin/scalp as well? I'm beginning to wonder.I think this week I'm going to start drinking lots of water and stop drinking the cola. I read somewhere that drinking cola on a regular basis contributes to the oil glands producing more oil. I'm also planning on buying vitamins, but I am not sure where to start with the vitamins.Anyways, thanks again JD and I'm going to keep trying!! I have AO's catalog and I read with interest that as a last resort some AO customer's have gotten good results with their all natural baby products. I could always try those too.*Hugs*Maria :)Related Link:Maria In Mass

Oh no! I was hoping this wouldn't happen. You know, I was thinking. AO does not contain any unnatural or harmful ingredients- no ingredients which are harmful to the scalp. Therefore, if you are breaking out, then it is not due to the ingredients. Gotta find the reason. Maybe your bangs are oily and their contact with the skin is causing breakouts. Maybe you are allergic to certain foods and are not aware of it. Maybe it is hormonal. Maybe it is the soap you use to wash your face. Maybe it is the body cleansing itself from the chemicals of previous products, and it will take time before they are completely rid of. Maybe it IS the oils in the JAY shampoo. But most likely, it is a combination of things. Give it time. I think you are right in planning to try other AO products, but don't forget, that the longer you use a product, the more obvious the benifits are. I know my comments are pretty general, but my point is, DON'T GIVE UP!!! Good luck in finding the PERFECT product,PD> Hi JD :)> Waving to Jade~~~~~~> Thanks very much for your post and answering my> questions! I really appreciate it! Hi JD :)Waving to Jade~~~~~~Thanks very much for your post and answering my questions! I really appreciate it! I think your advice to alternate the Aubrey shampoos is a good one. I believe Jade made that recommendation as well. I am grateful for both your good advice. I was feeling so good about using the JAY shampoo and very pleased with the affect it is having on my hair, but a little while ago I made the mistake of looking in the mirror and noticed breakouts popping up on my hairline and around my scalp. Hi Maria!I'm glad you're having good results with the JAY shampoo. As for the Calaguala Shampoo, it might be slightly drying, so I would alternate it with the JAY if I were you. I don't mind the slight dryness because my hair isn't thick, so it isn't affected as much. Also, I use the shampoo only on the scalp, not on the length of the hair, so the ends don't get dry. I have used only two other AO shampoos before: the chamomile and the blue chamomile. They smell wonderful and are very gentle. However they do not specialize in anything like moisturizing or fighting oiliness. That's why using them did not work for me... Come to think of it, I did not alternate these two with any other shampoos, and if I did, they would probably work fine. At least you know that trying them can't hurt!If I were you, I would alternate between the JAY and the Calaguala, and once in a while I would use something totally different, like the Ginseng (from the men's stock) or the Green Tea (which is supposed to be very gentle, balancing, normalizing) (I haven't tried either of these, but they sound like something that might work- I want to try them myself!). One thing for sure. Variety is good, and the more you vary, the more likely you are to find a combination that works.PDP.S. Have you tried the Jojoba & Aloe conditioner? It's a bit pricy, but good for a once-a-week treatment.> Hi PD :)> Waving to Jade~~~~~~~~> I have a question for you. It's been a few days now> since I started using Aubrey Organic products.
