Dear Maria,No problem about the posts. You are a wonderful person and I have enjoyed "meeting and talking" to you.I do support your strategy. Whether its a physician or a plumber, it pays to be an informed consumer. Your recommendation from your co-worker and your thoughts on your childhood dermatologist are good ones. Even if you just called your childhood dermatologist and told him about your quandry, I am sure he would listen and could probably make a recommendation or tell you to come to him. It can be rough these days just finding a general practitioner or a specialist who meets your needs and really listens to you. I know my own physician has told me that his patients regularly come to him saying they want certain medications they have read about or at least want to discuss the medications with him. He encourages this and appreciates this from his patients. It's always a bad sign when a physician of any kind says to you that s/he cannot give you a referral for a second opinion or summarily says that a specialist would not tell you anything different. If that happens, it is time to head for the door. I think people realize more and more that ultimate medical decisions are theirs. To me, that is wonderful.I wanted to tell you that what I do with the herbal rinse is to pour what's in the larger bottle into a smaller one. I just tip my head back and let the rinse run all over my scalp. Then, I massage very gently. If you get too much of the rinse in the length of your hair, it can dry it out. I am sure you could use a spray bottle if you think it would be easier for you.Take care of yourself and I look forward to your posts. All the Best,Jade

Hi Jade :)LOL sorry for all these posts. I hope you don't mind. Thanks again for your post and the Herbal Liquid Soap. My bottle arrived today and I'm looking forward to using it soon. The Rose Mosqueta Liquid Soap is on back order.Today while the children at the daycare were napping, my Co-worker happened to mention to me about her recent visit to a local dermatologist and how she had to call him for a biopsy. I asked her the name of her dermatologist and it just happens to be in the same office building as my old childhood dermatologist. She also told me about a friend of her's that had the same condition I have, Sebborheic Dermatitis and how before she went to see the Dermatologist it was aggravating her. LOL sounds like me! I asked her about the kinds of symptons her friend had like the bumps, how her scalp is easily irritated, and how she doesn't like other people to touch her scalp because it often feels sore. Sounds like me too. I never know what's going to cause my scalp to start becoming sore and one minute it will be fine, and the next ouch! For instance, sometimes just shampooing or brushing will set it off and leave it irritated. Also, I was thinking today maybe part of the reason it's irritated because I shampoo my hair everyday and maybe even though it's oily, I'm drying it out too much by shampooing so much (It feels both oily and dry sometimes). Anyways, the Co-worker told me her friend was prescribed a shampoo and now her friend doesn't have any problems. Well, years ago after seeing a dermatologist and being told yes, I have Sebborhea I asked the dermatologist what to use and she just looked at me like I was stupid and said "Dandruff shampoo". She wouldn't recommend anything to me and couldn't seem to give me any good suggestions how to make it feel better so I stopped seeing her. Also, after that I went through a phase of trying through every dandruff shampoo on the market and NONE of them seemed to work for me. They just seemed to make the problem worse. For instance, I used to use Neutragena T-gel and T-sal shampoos and sometimes for a little while my scalp would feel better, but the next day my scalp would feel worse like really dry and irritated. Also around that time I started reading books about herbs and natural ingrediants in skin and hair products and learned coal tar is a possible cancer causing ingrediant. After that, I didn't want to use anything with coal tar anymore.I guess what I'm trying to say is that although I want healthy hair and scalp, I don't think I can do what everyone else does. For instance, I've found brushing too much or shampooing too vigorously sometimes sets off my scalp and makes it feel bad for the rest of the day. I think that's why it was feeling bad this weekend. Not because of the JAY shampoo, but because I was brushing it more than usual. I think I irritated it and set it off. I think with me, I just need to take it easy when it comes to my scalp and hair, do what works for me and my scalp, and do stuff in moderation. I still believe the all natural AO shampoos and skin care products are a step in the right direction and like I mentioned before, I love the Calguala Fern shampoo. It made my scalp feel almost normal the first time I used it and it even lasted into the next day. Also today I recieved a compliment on my skin from the co-worker. Today when we were talking about dermatologists and I mentioned how I developed acne at 8 1/2 and was on accutane twice, she said "Really? Your skin looks really nice now!" I think the Natural & Herbal Skin Cleanser is doing a nice job on my skin because the few breakouts I had on my nose are disapearing. Also, with this product my oily but sensitve skin still feels clean into the next day and it doesn't irritate it. Another plus.Like I said before, I'm going to make an appointment to see my doctor and ask her about A) Allergy testing and B) About the possibility of seeing a dermatologist. Even though my doctor told me before when I asked her about it "There isn't anything a dermatologist is going to tell you, that I haven't told you already" I just want a second diagnosis. Have to make sure that this is or isn't allergy related on top of the sebborheic dermatitis and I don't have psoarsis too. It's always best to make sure. Also there's no way I want to return to that dermatologist she refered me to years ago. I'm going to see if I can be refered to my childhood dermatologist (He's still practising!!) or maybe the one my Co-worker suggested. Thanks Jade!! Please continue, you and JD and others here, to tell me about the wonderful Aubrey products you've used and what has or hasn't worked for you. I enjoy hearing your reviews and appreciate your advice.By the way, I have the Rosemary & Sage rinse, but am wondering is there an easy way to apply this rinse? Did you say in another post you use a spray bottle? Thanks so much again!! I'm sorry about my lengthy posts and if I'm repeating myself. I really appreciate your and JD's input and wonderful advice. Thanks for listening!!*Hugs to you both*Maria :)Related Link:Maria In Mass

Hi, Maria!> Thank you for your post! I really appreciate it! I thought her ideas about most people having sebborhea was interesting and that the ability of curlyheads having a lesser ability to expel caked sebum on the scalp was practical. So many people with extremely curly hair rarely brush their hair. The psoriasis can be rough for some folks. For some people, it takes many years just to make it manageable. If I'm not mistaken Aubrey Hampton himself has been battling with this most of his life.> By the way, the Calguala Fern shampoo seems to work> well. I'm glad you have had some luck with it.> Thanks again PD and Jade for all your help and advice.> By the way, UPS should be coming with my AO soap for> the shower tommorow. Yay!! Also, Jade the Natural> & Herbal cleanser works very well for me and my> face still feels clean the next day. Thanks for> recommending it.I think you will enjoy the Herbal Liquid Soap. It works great in the shower with those "lather thingies" or a loofah. I have a tendency to get skin irritations in the summer from all the humidity and I've none with using this soap. In the winter, try that Rose Mosqueta liquid soap. Extremely moisturizing and smells great. They need to make it in a 16oz bottle. The facial cleanser, Natural and Herbal, is so good for people with oily skin. If you ever feel like your skin is not "refreshed" as you say, be sure to open up your pores with very warm water before cleansing. I've found that is the key with my skin which is very oily. I like that tingle:)Bye for now,Jade

Dear Maria,It sounds like you have been having quite a time. I read your response to PD below and my mouth was hanging open. The reason I say that is that it sounds like your entire body is going through a reaction of some kind. I wonder if what you are experiencing is something which is cumulative. You sound very much like a friend of mine who was living in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was plagued by a host of illnesses for no apparent reason. Everything from extreme fatigue, to excessive colds and flus, and overall sensitivities to things like foods, pollen, dust, etc. Her hair and skin suffered greatly. After nearly a year of tests and evaluations, it was determined that it was chemicals from the plants in the area which her system could not stand. This was found through blood tests. She moved and hasn't had a problem since that time.I also remember a man with whom I used to work who developed asthma-like symptoms and had extreme tearing like that associated with a pollen allergy or sensitivity. He was miserable and missed more days of work than he had probably in his whole life. After being fully evaluated by a physician and two specialists, it was determined that carpet fibers in the office were the source of his ills.As for the Aubrey J.A.Y. shampoo, yea, it may be too moisturizing for your scalp, but I am still amazed that you saw these bumps. Your olive oil, egg + concoction I can actually understand because that olive oil is heavy and many folks who are not allergic to eggs can have scalp reactions with egg.I would urge you to talk to your physician about the totality of your symptoms. As PD indicated, hormonal imbalances, along with things like stress, can leave your system spent and open to a host of conditions. All the Best,Jade
