If so think about this solution, a soft perm, with light layers, will help your hair look fuller, yet softer and not just all one length as in a bob cut. The thing we want to do is to make your 'square thin face' blend with your hair shape, creating a softer image, trying to give the illusion of the 'perfect oval' features as much as possible. This cut will have layered bangs,cut so they are not all one length, but higher in the middle of the forehead, kinda fringed and 'piecey' and gradually tapered and rounded toward the temples to give your forehead an oval, rounded illusion shape, with the sides brought forward onto the cheeks slightly with soft curls and waves, NOT kinky tight curls!This will 'slenderize' your face and slowly taper and graduate to fall softly curving under your jawline and chinline to continue onto your neckline. This will very effectively hide your 'square jawline' features and can be worn blown out smoothly or my favorite, scrunched and very lighly gelled for a wash and wear style right out of the shower. It is very easy to upkeep and the bangs can be styled in various ways for different looks. Hope this helps. This cut does not have to be 'razor cut' by any means and a lot of stylists are inept at basic razor cutting techniques, at any rate almost any style can be cut with or without razor cutting, so either way is ok. My personal opinion is to stay away from the bob cut ,it is too square of a line when combined with your facial shape.william

I posted a while back about Razor cutting. I explained my good and bad experiences with it. I just had a consult with a new stylist. He said my hair is coarse, and with coarse hair, this type of cutting, as well as with layering, can damage the hair. He said that the thinning by razor cutting must be done carefully and it should not be done too much to the very outer most layers.My problem is very thick heavy hair. I agree that when I get layers, my hair is more difficult to work with, sticking up etc. BUT, if I grow it out one length, it takes forever to dry and just hangs there, very flat and unflattering especially for my thin square face.This will be yet another stylist of the many I have been to. I have an appt in 6 weeks for a cut. He wanted me to let my hair grow out from the last disaster. He is suggesting a one length bob, with fringe around the face.
