Hi!I get my sheabutter from the healthstore! When I do the hotoiltreatment I simply put the sheabutter in the microwave until it´s warm (not hot), then I use it on my damp hair for about 3 hours. You might shampoo twice to get all of the sheabutter out of your hair and then I use the conditioner.Hope this helps!Elin
Hi Elin, I would like to know where you get your shea butter from and in what form and specifically what you do for the hot oil treatment; it sounds really effectiveThanks!
Hi Ted!Try this:* Use a good moisturizing shampoo like: Nexxus Therappe, Artec Smooting Shampoo,or Aubrey Organics J.A.Y shampoo.Only shampoo your scalp down to you ears.Use a moisturizing conditioner like: Artec Smoothing shampoo, Aubrey Organics Jojoba & Aloe conditioner, Nature´s Gate Original Herbal conitioner.* Once a week you do a hotoiltreatment with sheabutter (it is my secret weapon to get shiny, silky, glossing hair. You will see results after the first time!!)* Do not ever brush your hair when its wet, let it dry naturally. Use your fingers to comb your hair.* Be nice to your hair and avoid the sunTake care!Ellinor

I'll try later to answer your question once the three Tylenol I just took kicks in :)
Hello. You probably don't recieve too many emails from guys about hair, because most of us could care less. I wish I could think this way, but do to the nature of my hair, this doesn't quite work. I'm a good looking guy (so I have been told) but I know if I could somehow fix up my hair, I could really accent my nature. But this is a little harder than said.First off, I have right now, fairly short hair. I got it cut a little strange, with the top being unproportionally longer than the sides. I'm hoping to fix this in the next cut (this isn't a noticeable problem too much). The basic style I'm going for is one of a messy and down to earth look, with some of it spiked up, and some of it on the sides combed back with all around being about 1 inch long and shorter near the baseline.Anyways, my real problem centers around my hair type. It is very dry (at least I think it is...). It has no life. When it is dry with no gel or anything in it, I can stick my hand in it, and the hair will generally stay up of fall only a little in places where the hair is long enough. So on a windy day, my hair gets really messed up really fast. It is also "wavy." When short, it is pretty straight. When longer, wavy/kinda curly. It is also VERY frizzy. And very fine. And dull. When it is wet, it acts fairly normal, but when dry, it all clumps together and each strand goes in different directions so it looks kinda bushy (when my hair is a lot longer and I haven't played with it some). Make sense? It isn't as bad as it seems, and in the last few days, I have made remarkable strides in getting it to look better. I used to wake up, wet it down, put in some gel, and than just use my hands to make it all messy, yet neat, sticking up. Since it is kinda curly and kinda long (about 1.5 - 2 inches near top) it would go up and than fall down some. Was okay. But as soon as the day dragged on, it didn't hold up too well. But now, I realized that if I wet it down (I have to wet it down since when I wake up it is usually really messy, curly near top, and frizzy), comb it, eat breakfast, and than comb it all around and add some of this anti-friz stuff (not too good), my hair would stay pretty nice all day, but still frizzy. Sure it still looked kinda dry, and didn't have too much life, but didn't get really messy at all in the wind and looked near the same at the end of the day, even better in some cases, since it was more of worn-in look.My question is, if I were to straigten my hair (the 4-6 month permentant way), I could than possibly grow it out some and go for some sort of shaggy look (not too long though, kinda like those Abercrombie and Fitch dudes). Or, I could keep it still short, about 1 inch all around, and than have it stick up some and actually have it look more like those guys that spike it up. Would straigthening benefit my hair any?Is there any kinda of gel or something that I can put through my hair to keep it looking soft, full of moisture, have life, and have no friz (ie, more normal like)? Something that will make it less fine, but rather clump more together in thicker strands so it acts more normal (rather than mine not clumping at all and each stranding behaving different from the next one). What about shampoo/conditioner stuff for more moisture and more volume and less friz/curl?In essence, I mainly want to change my hair texture to something that looks more normal and thicker, doesn't have to make it so it is soft and moves too much; instead can still stay kinda nonelastic as long as it looks more normal. Also, I do have well water and have been using it for the last 3 years. That probably has some effect. Would that H37 vitamin thing help any? Also, I swim a lot and because of this, my hair becomes extremely dry and frizzy and coarse and smells (it is already dry and frizzy) and so does my skin. Do you know of any hair care and/or skin products that I can use to rid myself of this excessive dryness and chlorine stench? When should I use these? As soon as I get out the pool in the locker room?Thank you for any help. I hope you can understand where I am coming from. I think having my hair short, all about the same length all around, and have it either down or a little spiked on top will probably be best.Again thanks a bunch.-ted
