I've used Clairol Natural Instincs and had really good results. My hair was shoulder length, and I needed only one application. Natural Instincs does not have ammonia, and is low in peroxide. It also includes a little bottle of aloe conditioner to be used after the coloring, and it really made my hair feel nice.

What is a good semi-permanent colour? I have medium-dark blonde and I would like it to be light-medium brown.
Also when I have used semi in the past I only use one application. My hair is a couple of inches past my shoulders, do I need to use two?
Thanks in advance.
