my hair isn't much lighter... i mean it is but it is soo red i want it to be light brown.. i really don't want it to go darker cause then i'll just go back to my stupid boring brown colour. i asked if the ash light brown would tone down my hair as well and give it the light colour i want do u think that will work? that's what the site recommended!? im soo lost on this stuff and most of what u said i don't really understand im blind when it comes to hair colouring as far as im concerned u buy a colour and the colour on the box is what u get which i know is sooo not true!? thank u soo much for helping me i really need it!
Natural Instincts, a semi-permanent is perfect for this. Deposit color only. Do not use a permanent color (there's no such thing anyway) it has ingredients you don't need....ammonia, higher volume peroxide....This can give that red glow on darker hair, after it fades.......
Now the hard part is deciding what shade is right for you....
We know you want to be in the cooler shades...in order to tone the red or gold in your hair.
So, you want a cooler shade that is NOT TOO DARK. (cooler shades tend to be a little darker). And here is where I can't help you because I don't know the shades. Maybe someone else here can help you with that.
I can tell you that the biggest mistake people make (stylist too) with a deposit only color is to choose a color that is too dark.
The best suggestion I can make is to buy a cool shade lighter than you would normally think....in the med or even light blonde first...Apply the color let it process the whole time recommended.
If this is still not enough depth to tone your red....go one darker....work your way there. You can apply this color one after the other with no worries...as long as you don't get too dark.
someone please help me my hair was medium brown/dark brown i used clairol hydrience in the chae cocoa brown light brown to try to change my hair colour. though it did lighten my hair ir has a red tint. should i apply a light ash brown to it to get rid of the tones will that help? i do not want to go to anyone to dye my hair because where i live(i don't live in states or canada) u can't get a good hairdresser so it is really a waste of money. please help me out. thank u oh by the way the dye was permanent.
