i think you need to bleach it to a pale yellow stage then use your ash shade over it....if you started dark then itz going to fade...also, l'oreals open fades haircolor and makes blonde look brassy.... bleach your hair to pale yellow(or leave it in longer if you want it lighter) with l'oreal perfect blondissima cream then use clairol natural instincs in martinique moondance.

I colored my hair about 4 weeks ago, and for some reason, the color always seems to fade from a golden blonde to a dark blonde/light brown within a week or so after coloring.

I noticed that when I don't wash my hair the next day after coloring, it holds onto the color a little longer, but generally my hair just loses the color fairly fast.

Just wondering what products have more of a staying power? I use Loreal's Excellence and Preference Light Ash Blonde, but did recently purchase Open by Loreal (I believe) and Natural Instincts in Sahara just to try in between shampoos at the suggestion of a poster here.

I also wanted to mention that I wash my hair in cool water (I've heard that really warm water can fade hair color) and use haircare products for color treated hair. Any suggestions in regard to what hair color brands would be better would be appreciated (I never had this problem when I had my hair professionally done).

Thanks!

Kris
