If it's a really orangey red, blue might help, as blue and orange are opposites on the wheel. But the opposite of red is actually green. Of course, I'm not sure if either actually works or not, as my standby whenever I mess up my hair, is to cover it with brown :-P .
More awesome than a manatee!

Hey ur pretty! :) Maybe u should use a blue based toner (from Sally's?) to cancel the red tones. And then maybe u could dye over it...but its prob wise ot consult a pro abt this. Good luck!

Hey! You have lovely hair! I did the red hair thing from for about 3 years as well, and my hair is, naturally, close to ash brown. You have a few options. The red may, with time, fade to a coppery-brown that's on the same level as the red. I grew mine all the way out that way. If you compared my ends to my roots, you could see a difference, but the change was so gradual, you really had to look to see i was growing it out. If that's not your case, i'd say dye it one last time (i know, it stinks) your original color, but ask a professional which color will both cover the red and keep you at your naural color (covering reds can be tricky, and using your original color on top of the red may not come out how you want it to). I say again- ask a pro! Good luck!
I wish that I could help you, but I really don't know that much about haircolors. Your hair was very pretty in that picture, by the way..and, welcome to the boards! I'm new here myself. So, sorry that I didn't answer your question, but I'm sure someone here will. Just give them time.

Hey everyone. I know you've heard these questions over and over, but I jumped on the red hair wagon over 3 years ago dyeing it non stop, and I'm done with it. I stopped dyeing the hair in Jan of this year, and I just want to realisticly tone it down with a good temp/semi perm color till it grows out. My natural color is light ash brown and it's grown out about 4 inches. my hair is 23 inches total(which is why i am affraid to goto a salon). Also really dont want to go green. anyone have any product recommendations? Thanks a lot here's a link to my photo (before it faded) http://www.hotornot.com/r/?eid=GUEEKSA&key=HLU
