depends....for a bold look do a dark base color with light h/l's....for natural a base color then h/l 2-3 shades ligher....but my preference is this color....really pretty:

Are you a winter or an autumn? Since you have brown eyes, and brown hair, I would guess you're one of the two. Do you have golden or yellow tones in your skin? (look better in warm or golden colors, gold jewelery, browns better than black or white =autumn) Or are you more what you would call cooler tones (perhaps very pale, look better in pastels and black and white, silver jewelry, but not yellow colors, or gold, or warm tones = winter). (And I mean which color jewelry looks better on you, not just which you prefer...some of us prefer silver and wouldn't touch gold, but it doesn't mean it necessarily looks better on us).

If you are a winter, I would stay away from warm colors like yellows (golden blondes) or orangy reds, and use ashy tones. If you are an autumn, I would use golden or red colors and stay away from ashy tones.
