No, these don't deposit color. I'm not entirely sure how they work, but I would guess its similar to a brunette washing her hair with coffee. You may just get more shine, but no real color change. I guess if a blonde used the brunette, it may just mute her blonde slightly but not really change anything. And if a brunette used the blonde I doubt it would do anything at all. These are guesses though, so if you find out differently, let us know!

Just out of curiousity,

The John Freida Blonde and Brunette Shampoo lines both say they don't deposit color to hair. So how is it that they work in activating the highlights in your hair??

What were to happen if a blonde used Brunette shampoo or a brunette used blonde shampoo?
