QuoteReplyTopic: What do you think about Blondes with brown eyes? Posted: December 19 2004 at 3:16pm
it would look good, as long as you stay away from the skunk look when your roots grow out... and fair skins usually have blond or red hair (fair/ pink undertones)so theeres no problem there. make sure you get a nice toner or blond dye over the bleach..cuz if you just bleach it might go orangey.
Eyecolor and haircolor aren't genetically all that tied together...if my shady memories of college biology are still correct.
There are plenty of naturally occurring blondes out there with brown eyes. My best friend is a natural redhead with fair golden skin and very brown eyes (not black, but strongly honey brown). I've worn varying shades of dark blonde and red myself and my eyes are a dark sort of hazel, which look downright muddy grey from afar.
It's just a matter of finding the right shade of blonde for your skin tone. I'm sure a good colorist can find one that will look fabulous on you. :D

Thanks to everyone for your replys. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. I'm actually considering changing to a solid brown color, which I wrote in my latest post. All I know is that I must decide by next week, which will be 4 weeks since my last salon visit. I get my root touch-up every four weeks, so, I have to make a definite decsion on how to proceed before next Saturday. Ah, decisions, decision....
Exhibit A of blone-hair-brown-eyes hotness: Look at Gwen Stefani. Her eyes are practially black they're such a dark brown, but she manages to pull of white-platinum somehow...
hey girl, d'you color your hair?

I personally think that fair skinned, dark-eyed women look best with dark hair. I really hate the way the dark roots look too, once they begin to regrow. It looks cheap. If I were you, I would keep what you have. I bet it looks great!!!

hey most of holywoods gals have brown eyes and blonde hair. i think you will look great. those people who told you other wise will wise up when they see you
I think that a brown eyed person can look good in blode hair, providing the shade of blonde compliments their complexion. Which shade would look best on you is hard to say... I would think that if you have fair skin, ash or honey blonde might look nice. One thing though about coloring your hair a color that is so far from your natural - you will need to have your roots touched-up at least every three weeks.
I think u should definitely go 4 it b/c my friend has brown eyes, light skin, and blonde hair and it looks super cute!! Just try 2 go 4 a more honey blonde instead of like... platinum blonde. Hope everything works out 4 ya!!
I love everyone!!! Ya... even U!!! hehe ;)

If your eyebrows and eye color don't match your chosen hair color, you can lighten your eyebrows (Jolen creme bleach) and get Durasoft contact lenses, which will make even dark eyes green or blue.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
Where I grew up lots of brown eyed girls dyed their hair blonde, so I'm just so used to seeing it I can't imagine it looking strange. You can probably pull off blonde, you just need to choose a shade that goes with your complexion. If you look best in yellows, go for a honey blonde or golden shade. If you don't look that great in yellows, go for a white platinum or an ash shade. Picking the wrong shade for your complexion is, in my opinion, why dyed hair sometimes looks "off" on a person.

There are plenty of people born with naturally black hair and blue eyes - they just look so 'exotic' comparatively that sometimes us common folk can't help acting snarky - and there are also lots of blonde/browns that I see on a daily basis and they're quite pretty. Lack of confidence with your appearance will prolly trip you up much faster than your actual eye color.
Make every day you have count, before the time comes for you to count every day you have.
You know, I see a lot of good-looking combinations out there that don't often occur in nature. I'm personally a huge fan of light hair and dark eyes. I think it'll take a wee bit of confidence, but don't do it just because of its rarity in nature. Ha ha, everyone told me not to dye my hair black because I have blue eyes and apparently only blonde or light brown would look "natural" on me, although I must confess it's now a color I really like--
I do agree with above poster^^^ go to the Try It On studio to get a better idea. The images aren't that great, in my experience, but it's worth a shot and will give you a good idea (and fair warning) about your possible haircolors.

It's funny that you called me a "wealth of knowledge". I actually have very little knowledge. All I know is what I've learned from making mistakes with my own hair. Then I did research to find out WHY my hair colour was such a mess. (I've had apricot & pumpkin coloured hair within the past 2 months.) That's why I always warn people to do strand tests first. A lot of my hair colour disasters could have been avoided if I had just taken the time to strand test rather than dumping dye all over my head.
On the subject of natural blondes with brown eyes -- I have a blonde cousin with brown eyes. Her hair is dark golden blonde. She's beautiful.
As for looking natural, my eyebrows (and my roots) are dark brown. I know I'm not fooling anyone, but I don't mind. I'm perfectly comfortable with being a "bleached" blonde.
I found the Try It On Studio really useful (and amusing). I think L'Oreal has a similar feature on their new website as well. www.lorealparis.com
I hope you find the colour you're looking for.

Your hair color is great! Incidentally, I'm very similar to you in complexion, however, I have dark eyes. There are those who believe that natural blondes do not exist in nature with dark eyes. The dark eyes, to some, is a sure give away that the person is a bleach-blonde. The jury is out on that one. My colorist has told me on many occasions that I look best in warm browns and reds. Maybe I will try the Clairol try-it-on site, to get an idea what I would look like as a blonde. By the way, you are really a wealth of knowledge on this site, Juliana. I always enjoy reading your responses to the various posts! : )

My natural hair colour is a dark brownish red. I have extremely fair skin with a yellow undertone and green eyes. People warned me against going blonde, but I went ahead and did what I wanted. Now those same people are telling me I look great. I was afraid I might look washed out, but my skin actually looks less pale with blonde hair.
I used the Try It On Studio at www.clairol.com to get a sense of which shade would look good on me. At first my hair was sort of a strawberry blonde, but last week I toned it to more of a neutral blonde with a touch of gold. I love it.
It's your hair. Don't let anyone talk you out of doing what you want with it. If you want to be blonde -- go for it! :-)

Hello everyone! A few months ago, I decided to make a color change - I went from an auburn/red color (similar to Debra Messing's color) to a medium brown with golden blonde highlights. My natural color is dark brown. I love the way the streaks look in my hair, and being the color chameleon that I am, I'm now thinking about going all the way, and going blonde. I always get my coloring done professionally. My question is: Do you think blonde will look nice/natural on someone with very fair skin and brown eyes? I've spoken to a few friends of mine who seem to think that I'll look washed out with such light hair. They also feel it will look very artificial, due to the fact that my natural color is so dark and roots willl become apparent in no time at all. What shades of blonde do you think would be most flattering on someone with my coloring and eye color, if any? My hair is in fairly good condition, and is pretty long - to the middle of the back. One last question... Do you think the safest way to achieve blonde would be through doing an all-over heavy highlight (I already have some highlights), or to bleach/strip what I currently have and start from scratch with an all-over blonde color? Any thoughts and advice are very appreciated.
