Sorry, Kris, the only ingredient remotely related to oil is the ppg-12-peg-50 lanolin, which is a chemically modified wax. And there's almost none of it in there.

Um, I may have a degree in chemistry, but even you should know that water is not a type of oil.


Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

ok the first five ingre. are some kind of oil.. look it up if ud like just in fancy little words.

Actually, most purchased "hot oil" treatments contain no oils. I have in front of me a tube of Tressemmé 4+4 professional hot oil treatment that I got free with a heat cap. The ingredients are as follows:

water, acetamide mea, cocotrimonium chloride, oleth-20, hydroxymethylcellulose, pei-1500 hydrochloride, fragrance, methylparaben, glycerin, sodium pca, soyamide dea, sorbital, lecithin, ribonucleic acid, hydrolyzed elastin, ppg-12-peg-50 lanolin, quaternium 15, FD&C yellow #6.

I prefer doing hot oil treatments with real oil. I have no idea how this chemical brew would affect a coming color job.

bull **** how the hell is it going to be easier to die.. the color is going to take a little longet to work if anything.. Y do u think directions say clean hair.. make sure u wash your hair.. its like if u dont want to get die on your hair line u add vasoline well u just added a whole bunch of vasoline to your hair. I hope your not trying to cover gray.. its not gonna hurt anything but your waisten the vo5 and the color.. you wont get the max coverage..

your hair will be fine the hotoil helps u so acually it will be easier to dye your hair

Is it safe to color hair after using a hot oil treatment? I just used a home treatment (VO5) and I need to recolor my hair, and I was wondering if for some reason the color wouldn't take, or if it's okay to do. Should I wait a certain length of time before coloring? Any help is appreciated!
