QuoteReplyTopic: Extensions in Chicago? Posted: May 05 2004 at 11:19am
What is a highly recomended place to get awsome extensions done in the Chicago downtown or north-west suburb area? I have very fine hair and I desperatly want to try them to bust my confidence. Any photos of Chicago-area work?
Are you wanting longer or thicker? Maybe both? I use the lord & cliff method myself. It is hard to work around a receding hairline. If the hair is fine you may be able to see the bonds thru it. Thats definitly not cool. You may have to go with bangs. The reason why I'm thinking that is because I have a client with a thin hair line. We gave her some bangs, I cut them on a angle sloping gently. (they are making a come back) They are still a soft long bang. Anyways, we ended up able to put some extension around the hair line because she had enough hair from the bang I cut to cover the bonds. I also used a a smaller amount of bond and hair when applying for a more natural effect. This was a experimental thing but it worked out really good and she is very pleased. I must stress that if your hair is weak from meds or anything like that. bonded extensions may not be right for you. Another alt would be clip in bangs.

I have fine, thin but healthy jaw lenght hair with a receeding hairline due to medical conditions.
I am trying to figure out which hair extensions would work for me and also looking for recommendations in the Chicago area.
I had an appointment this morning for Great Lengths and was told I would need 3 somethings and could not use the GL around the front. Instead they want to put in InstaHair or something to that effect.
