sldisco, you didnt mention what type of glue you used. I imagine if bought at Sally's it was latex. In that case, soaking your roots in some type of oil, whether it be remover oil, mineral oil or even vegetable oil will help to soften the glue. It will get really gummy and gooey. dont try pulling the clumps of glue out. Let them get really gummy and they will comb out easier. Using your fingernails any really scrubbing the oil into the glue helps to loosen it it. Youll have to really let the oil or remover soak, maybe several hours, and shampoo. You might have to repeat the process a few times to get it all out. Id also buy a bottle of acetone just in case the remover or oil isnt getting it all disolved, but I dont think the acetone will be necessary if its latex glue. Dont panic...latex dissolves pretty easily, its just a pain and its tedious to get all the gooey stuff out!
Ugghhh...I'm sorry to hear this has happened. Hopefully, you can get the solvent tomorrow and start removing the glue--just be patient, and don't force it. Soaking your hair in conditioner or oil for a few hours and then washing it might help to "soften" everything up before you apply the remover.
I know you had said that glued-in extensions can be damaging, "but with the right care you should have no problems." However, I don't necessarily agree with that. There are other factors to consider beyond care. Obviously, a problematic application will yield bad results, and with glue, you just don't have the same margin for error as you do with some other methods. (Correcting an error is a lot more difficult.)
Also, I truly think some hair (such as my own) just isn't strong enough to endure the removal process well. In the best of circumstances, I still think I'd lose some hair. Plus, I think that people who have success with glue, like Sherrie, have been experimenting with it for a long time and really know what they're doing--usually, they will be the first to tell you that it can be difficult for a beginner.
I know you said you don't want clip-ins, but there are other methods to try that would be less messy and risky. If I were you, I'd seriously think about extendtubes, which you can use for either strand by strand application or wefts, or shrinkies (but I think you can only use those for strand by strand). Braiding is also a good option, but a bit tricker, imo, than extendtubes or shrinkies.
Hells Bells. I knew this was going to turn out bad.
Well what kind of glue did you put in your hair? Go back to the store tomorrow and get the remover for it, please. If you don't have the right tools to deal effectively with it tonight, leave it alone or you'll make it worse.
now i just took out the hair.. it was waving all over..i had to pull it out.. it was terrible. NOW THERES GLUE ALL OVER MY HAIR. how do i get this outtt? :(

Here is a link to a chart I made for someone else to show them how to layer the wefts. The line down the middle is where you would butt up the two wefts in the back. This is just a general chart and you can use more wefts than what Ive shown there.
okay ! well i just bought my weft at sallys and i am ready to put them in.. but the weft is so long so the hiar sections are going to be thin.. so should i start at my nape and layer it up as i go up? like section by section?
My Sallys carries human hair from $6.99 to $25.99 and synth from $1.99 to $2.99, depending on the length. Ive done the latex glued in wefts a couple of times and its definetely a short term option. If you dont wash your hair you could get a good 3 days out of them, but as soon as you start washing your hair the time will be very limited. I havnt tried the "sandwich" method yet but Ive heard raves about it. The remover that sallys sells for the latex works fine.
SHE human hair blend, 18", #4 with Supertape.

hmmmm well that depends. If your going to a local beauty supply store they probaly have cheap wefts that start around $25 for human hair and around $15 for synthetic hair. I have purchased a few brands of human hair that will hold up for 4/5 weeks will lots of TLC for around $50 but then you probably wouldnt want to reuse them they wont be that good.
sorry im asking so many questions haha but how much should 1 weft cost me about? if im just buying like one for a temporary use.. well maybe 2 .. how much?

oh yeah if you plan on leaving them in then the liquid gold is good and strong and will last. Its a harder bond than latex and just shouldnt be used for temporary (like a week or two). Yes you can reuse wefts if you can get all the glue residue out of the weft, which is difficult! But unless you spend quite a bit of money on the hair it usually dont last long enough and you probably wouldnt want to reuse them. What you will probably find at Sallys or most of your local beauty supply stores will be lower quality hair and probably just latex glue (which I hate) but it works for temporary purposes!
Oh wow.. if I can leave it in for 5 weeks then I would.. I just don't want them in like sewn in style you know.. the whole 6 months thing with that.. But also
are wefts reusable?

Oh, one more thing I want to mention. If you only plan on having these in temporary....dont use liquid gold bonding glue. Its strong glue. And it doesnt come out easily after a week or two. When I use LG and my sandwiching technique it holds for 5 weeks at least. Once the LG bond starts to deteriorate and weaken then its pretty easily removed, but if you try getting them out sooner its more difficult. I just had wefts in temporarily for 2 weeks and removed them today....and had forgotten just how strong that bond is at two weeks!
thank you hun. im just nervous cause of my short hair. that's really about it. cause its very layered and textured i just hope when i put the weft in. it will be covered well. my hair thick short though. so it should.
