Ultimately I bought European micro-wefts from Extensions Plus, which was very, very close to my baby-fine/soft/chemically untreated hair. Just got them back out again, 5 years and 1500 miles down the road, and can tell you they are still much nicer, finer, and refined-looking than anything I've seen around lately.
Can't remember if I ever bought the European Virgin - don't think I did, think I went to the EP instead. The Bohyme Silky Smooth was a nicer texture than most extension hair, but compared to my natural Norwegian locks, a little bit horsey.
On second thought, I have some mystery hair in my treasure trove of extension hair, and it is relatively fine textured - that might be the EV.
(What a lovely convergence of resurrected thread and renewed interest!)
Yep. Those are the wave patterns. I'm not sure that she has all of them in stock all the time, though--maybe in some colors. Generally, I think Sara stocks 50mm and 28mm, and can get the orders by request. :)
hey jenny, i might be stupid or something but did you say those are wave patterns for plastikhaar? i didnt see any of those on the website, she has more? sorry if the answer is something obvious!
I don't know if you mean texture (like feel) or texture (like wave or curl), but here are the wave patterns for PlastikHaar, if that helps: http://www.plastikhaar.ch/bilder/curls.jpg I think Dome's Classic texture is probably comparable to PH's 50mm wave; Dome Wavy is perhaps like PH's 28mm.
Thanks for the tip about the virgin body wavy hair! I have been looking at that hair for a long time and wondered if it would hold the wave. I like a little wavy in my hair sometimes, and than sometimes I like it straigt, but I would just flat iron it.
Overall, I had had a lot of success with Super Hair factory's hair quality. Some batches of hair have been great, and some so-so, but nothing really crappy. I had mixed results with His and Her's cuticle hair, and that hair is more expensive. Super Hair is my preferred vendor for hair.
For coloring extension hair, I use Matrix Color Sync. It's great stuff, and it is classified as a 'demi- permanent' (which means the dye doesn't contain ammonia, and the peroxide content in the developer is less than 10 volume). Anyway, it works great. Just side note, I use Color Sync to to low lights too because it tends to 'stick' and hold better to porous hair.
just about any semi permanent brand works well. Ive used the clairol brands and a few others from the beauty supply store and Ive used several brands that I can pick up from kmart or walmart. But then again that only works if your trying to color the hair darker...to go lighter I have no idea, I dont even try it! I think semi perm. colors work better on any hair that is dry or processed. Im no expert, but when they call them semi-permanent I think its a bit confusing to alot of people. It leads you to believe that the color is not long lasting. But if your hair is damaged, dry, porous or processed (like extension hair) its gonna last forever!
I think all human extensions are more dry than your natural hair. They are usually high maintanance to make them look nice. I have to always use much more of conditioner than I would use on my natural hair.

Hi, I tried these extensions: http://www.superhairfactory.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_43 I think they were the best I have ever had. My hair is naturally wavy, so I can't have straight extensions. Before I tried H&H body wave, Hairpiece.com body wave, Glamour hair european body and several other brands. All of these hair will straighten out after washing. Sensationel italian cuticle body wave was very nice and kept the structure but lasted only 2 weeks before it got tangly and dry. Nature girl body wave also keeps its wave and hair is lasting and beautiful. But it is VERY difficult to bleach. For this reason I would not get it any more. From Super hair factor outlet I tried their french refined hair, but it was too curly for me. Their regular body wave did not keeep its wave. Virgin body was the best so far for me. It is very fine and keep wavy structure. (At least in my case). I am going to buy it again soon. Only problem I had with Bohyme hair is that it does not take color when I try to color it. It always stay the original color you buy. For this reason you shoud get color that perfectly matches yours.
Well, I'm not sure how well the Virgin Body hair retains its texture. I've heard that the wave just falls right out of the regular Body Wave (which is a looser wave to begin with). Perhaps the Virgin Body is better. Kristin recently did a client with one of these waves, and the hair lost its texture quickly, so you may want to check with her first. If you want wavy, glamourhair may also be an option; AMM has posted a lot of pictures of that hair on the boards, along with guidelines for how she cares for it.
My feeling is that the Bohyme Virgin Body will not necessarily be less maintenance than the silky straight, though. With this sort of hair, conditioner is critical; I use like a 1/8 bottle of deep conditioner, with detangler and shine spray, like every day with my silky straight. I had wavy only once (another brand, not Bohyme), and had the same sort of tangling and frizz issues.
Has anyone had any experience with this Bohyme Euro-Body hair? I was considering it or perhaps the Italian Mink Bodywave from H&H.
The silky straight Bohyme I got a few weeks ago is wearing well, but it is a bit high-maintenance. I glop the h-ll out of it in the shower with Humectress and then again with a leave-in and it is happy. If I use a lighter conditioner or skip the leave-in it becomes hateful and tangly.
Even when it's soft it's still a bit coarser than my own hair. I'd like something a bit softer to at least mix in on the top layers.
